Why just great things? I feel even a good day can be achieved by curating a series of small rituals and beginning them right in the morning gives the day such a head start. One of my most important morning rituals is H Y D R A T I O N .
Just 2-3 glasses of lukewarm water and the body is sweetly woken out of the deep slumber. The eyes might be wide open but the body gets time to get activated to a new day. How I wish I hadn’t shocked my body with cold water as a kid, early in the morning!
Sharing some more of these teeny-tiny morning rituals that together give me a boost of energy, focus and clarity for the day ahead:
#1. Set a soothing alarm tone to wake up
Birds chirping is my personal fave! Avoid waking up to loud tones or you'll end up carrying the same hassled energy into the day.
#2. Express gratitude for 3 things going well
They can be small or big, but counting your blessings everyday makes you a more positive person overall.
#3. 3 minutes of deep belly breathing in the bed
It helps release any trapped stress in the mind and gives you a cleaner slate for the day!
#4. Hydrate yourself with 2-3 glasses of lukewarm water
Avoid cold water early in the day as it jolts the body after a deep, peaceful slumber.
#5. Include some form of movement in your mornings
Some form of physical activity in the morning goes a long way. For me, 6 sets of sun salutations do the trick.
